Gold is catching a bid today because the trouble makers (Trump/Kim) decided to shake the World instead of shaking hands (The June 12 summit called off). Gold is at 1305 right under the 200DMA (200 Day Moving Average) of 1306. Investors should not fall for a one day wonder. Let it climb above 1306 and consolidate before you pull the trigger. It is wise to observe a 3 day rule in such situations. As a case in point, DOW was 250 points down when the news first broke out but recouped most of it by the end of the day. In fact, if anything we should thank the Trouble Makers who give us opportunities again and again. (Example, I added to my JPM long position as relaxation of Dodd-Frank regulation should help, if anything). Thank you TrumpKim!

Texas School Shooting …. Again?

I wonder how many more kids will have to sacrifice their lives before all these idiot Politicians will come into action. Maybe if one of their own kids fall prey to this shootings, will they do something about it. Anyways, not sure if one should wait for these ACTION LESS BONEHEAD politicians to do something but maybe we, the common man should get into action. One very basic thing that we can do right now is STOP shopping at any store that sells guns. STOP investing in any Companies that affiliates with GUN manufacturing companies. This are some of the short term measures but long term there needs to be a SOLID strategy in place to tackle this problem once for all. One thing that comes to my mind is to have a GPS based tracking system for the guns. I will write about this in a separate blog but Man, this blood bath needs to stop right NOW.

Trump Tariff Tantrums

With today’s payroll data inflation fears have subsided. Markets anxiety has been calmed by avoiding full fledge Tariff. Interest rate seem to be in check as inflation jitters have died down for now so Markets is not expecting the 4th rate hike. Economic conditions are improving and focus is back on fundamentals. S&P closed above 2780 and Bulls have all reasons to celebrate this weekend. Are we going to retest the Feb 9th low? Probably not. All this points to a breakout of US Markets in the coming weeks. I am net long but also cautious of any retaliation that might ensue based on Trump Tariff Tantrums. Any company that have international exposure (Apple, General Motors etc.) are not out of the woods yet and one headline from China/EU can take them down. So will have to consider this factors in stock picking going forward. Till then have a nice relaxed weekend.
